Anaplerotic ReactorSpecialized reactor developed by the Tomato Order. Anaplerotic reactors utilize advanced nutrient recycling systems that help to increase the efficiency of the reaction which provides additional calories to a ship. |
Antacid WarheadA unique warhead developed by the Banana Star Republic. Antacid warheads use a mixture of bicarbonates to neutralize acids that are essential to the operation of weapon systems, even those protected with preservative mounts. The Bananas employ these devices on both fighters and mines. |
Anti-Nutrient WarheadAmong the most commonly used warheads in the Food galaxy. The warhead uses anti-nutrient particles to annihilate regular nutrient particles on contact, making them especially deadly against armor. These warheads are used on a variety of vehicles including ships and fighters, but are most often equipped by mines. |
Anti-OxidantsChemicals that prevent oxidation reactions. Anti-oxidant theory is important to the development of a number of technologies, including Acetic Acid torpedoes, Ketchup Beams, and weapon preservation. |
Anti-Potassium BeamA particle stream weapon employed by the Bananas, the Anti-Potassium Beam or AKB, is particularly effective at mid-range. The energy stream is composed of negatively charged ions that neutralize positively charged potassium ions, leading to a breakdown in a target's physical structure. There is also a variant of the AKB which can pass through normal shields, the Phased-Potassium Beam. |

ArmorThere are two basic types of armor used by Food ships, light and heavy. Light armor offers better overall protection, while heavy armor is thicker and is less likely to allow damage through. These basic armors are usually composed of starch-based polymers or protein. |
Artificial OrchardFacility used by the Fruit Federation to increase the population of colonies through artificial reproduction. The use of these facilities sometimes causes intense resentment of the government by Fruit who have been organically grown. |
Aspartame EngineThe Aspartame Engine is a unique modification by the Tomato Order of the Carbohydrate Engine to make it more efficient. The added Aspartame allows the reaction to burn hotter which in turn increases the completeness of the reaction. Unfortunately, Tomato engineers have been unable to transfer the technology for use with fighter vehicles. |

Astro Navy CommandThe headquarters of the Banana Astro Navy, also referred to as BANCOM. This large complex handles a variety of tasks, but is primarily used for increasing fleet experience through exercises and simulated combats. Command centers are often built along side the Astronautical Academy, which allows for new recruits to participate in the drills. |
Astro TroopersSpecially trained combat operatives of the Banana starfleet. Astro Troopers are exceptional at both ship capture operations and ground combat. |
Astronautical AcademyFacility that trains new recruits and officers for the Banana Star Republic, which in turns complements ships with experienced crew. Placement at the Academy is generally reserved for only the upper echelon on Banana society. |
AstrophysicsAn important area of theoretical science dealing with the properties of the universe. Astrophysics is particularly important to the development of technologies that involve manipulation of gravity and stellar objects. |
Atmospheric Modification NetA network of facilities that work in conjuction to stabilize and improve the conditions of a planet. |
Attack CarrierA unique ship type employed by the Corn Coalition. The attack carrier allows for more firepower than a typical carrier, although its fighter complement is somewhat reduced. |
Attack CruiserA common ship designation for a cruiser that is primarily used for offensive attacks. |
AttackerA ship designation used by the Meat Empire to denote small attack ships of less than 200kT. Attackers are often called 'Attack Wings' because of their unique shape. |
Automated Space YardThe Automated Space Yard is a design unique to the Vegetable Dominion that uses a wide array of unique robots and drones to construct vehicles in orbit. It's a continuous operation that build much faster than more traditional space yards. |
Auxiliary ControlGeneric term for a ship module that serves as a back-up in the event the main bridge is destroyed. |
Auxiliary Shield SystemA unique device utilized by the Banana Star Republic, the Auxiliary Shield System serves to supplement shield generators when they become weak and porous, reducing the damage that might break through the shield layer. These devices are often deployed on larger ships only. |
